NDIS housing provides individuals who have major functional impairments or high support needs purpose-built accommodations known as Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA). People with disabilities are guaranteed to have the infrastructure, features, and support necessary to improve their independence and quality of life when they live in NDIS housing. This is because it has been specifically designed to offer living environments that are accessible, safe, and helpful for these individuals. These accommodations can take the form of wheelchair-accessible houses, apartments, or communal living arrangements, all of which are outfitted with various forms of assistive technology and customised to meet the specific requirements of NDIS participants. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Housing Program aims to provide individuals with disabilities with long-term housing alternatives that promote choice, inclusion, and well-being.
We offer a variety of Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) options and give housing assistance through the NDIS. When an NDIS participant’s goal is greater autonomy in daily life, we work closely with them to facilitate this transition. We create a healthy space of living for participants to ensure they enjoy the quality of life just like others.
Our Housing features includes the following:
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) refers to purpose-built housing designed for individuals with significant functional impairments or high support needs participating in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). SDA provides accessible, safe, and well-designed living environments that cater to the unique requirements of people with disabilities, promoting independence and enhancing their quality of life.
Alliance Care Support offers a range of SDA options tailored to the diverse needs of NDIS participants. Our SDA options may include fully accessible houses, apartments, or shared living arrangements. We prioritise universal design principles and incorporate assistive technology, modifications, and support features to ensure a comfortable and inclusive living environment for our residents.
To qualify for SDA through Alliance Care Support, individuals must be NDIS participants and meet the eligibility criteria set by the NDIS. This generally includes having high support needs that cannot be adequately met in mainstream housing. We recommend discussing your eligibility and housing requirements with your NDIS planner or support coordinator to explore SDA options and navigate the application process.
Alliance Care Support SDA accommodation is designed to provide a safe and supportive living environment; therefore, it does typically include professional staff. We work closely with support coordination and allied health professionals to ensure that appropriate support services are available to our residents. Our team collaborates with participants to develop individualised support plans, facilitating access to the necessary services and supports to meet their unique needs.
